I am moved in!

Ok, so, I am all moved in to the apartment and I am loving it.  The only downside is that I have no internet connection yet... SO... I am not going to be on as much.  This is probably a good thing though since I am needing to focus on writing more music.
Til next time!

My Day Off

I have a day off of work today.  I enjoy having a mid-week break… even if it means I have to work Saturday til 1pm.  Not too bad.

Just got back from the Doctor’s office to get my incisions checked from my vein stripping in September.  Glad to report that all is well.  And I am done with the varicose vein deal.  Smile

The rest of my day will consist of painting.  I am getting ready to move into my first apartment.  It was in need of some TLC, so I have cleaned like I have never cleaned before and now I am putting up some fresh paint.  Worked on it a bit last night, and it is already looking MUCH better.

With all the work of getting the apartment ready and getting ready to move, I have not had the chance to work on writing songs like I would like.  Beth and I have been trying to get some new music ready to record.  We have several songs that I am really looking forward to getting out there.

Well, I must go now… them walls aren’t self painting…

Let me leave you with this… http://owlcityblog.com/2010/10/25/my-hope-is-found/
This is Adam Young of Owl City… you know, the guy who wrote the song Fireflies.  This is an awesome rendition of the hymn “In Christ Alone”  that he posted on his blog.

Be Blessed today!

Clean, clean, clean….

As some of you may know, I am getting ready to move into my own apartment.  I am super excited about moving day (you can help if you want… lol) which is going to be around the last week of November.  Right now, I am giving it a real thorough clean as it has been vacant for a while and just needs some sprucing up.

So, that was my evening… cleaning… yeah…. I know… cleaning… BUT it is all worth it.  Smile  Have a great day tomorrow… tis Friday…. that makes it a default great day.

God Bless!

Relationships, Words, and Action

Tonight was a lesson in relationships.  If you are saying one thing and your actions suggest differently, then your words mean absolutely nothing.  I know for me, it is easy to say, "I love you"... but an entirely different thing to show it.  I don't do enough to show it.  And for that, I am truly regretful.  I pray that God will help me to see where I may be hurting those I love, and how I can fix it.

What a day!

Well, I got a ton done today.  I got my website finished up.  It was needing some freshening up....
I met with Pastor Steve Cox of the Dublin Gospel Mission church and discussed the music ministry there.  I am looking forward to helping out with that...

Oh yeah... then I cleaned the bathroom and got some laundry done... lol

Gonna get some shut eye!

My phone call to the Dr's Office

Ok, so I thought I would share something that was hilarious to me. Hopefully you get a laugh out of it too. On Friday, I called my doctor's office to set up an appointment for a check-up. Here is the conversation that followed.....

__________________________________________________

Operator: "Fayette Regional, how may I direct your call?"

Me: "I would like to schedule an appointment"

Operator: "One moment"

Secretary: "Family Practice, how may I help you?"

Me: "I would like to schedule an appointment"

Secretary: "One moment, I am the only one here, I will be right with you."

Me: "Ok"

Phone beeps

Operator: "Fayette Regional, How may I direct your call?"

Me: I would like to set up an appointment"

Operator: "One moment, please."

Secretary: "How may I help you?"

Me: "I would like to set up an appointment"

Secretary: " One moment, I am the only one here, I will be right with you."

Me: "ok"

Operator: "Fayette Regional, how may I help you?"

Me: "I would like to schedule an appointment"

Operator (Who by now recognizes that I am the same person getting transfered in.): (Chuckle) Sorry, one moment."

Secretary: "How may I help you?"

Me: "I would like to set up an appointment."

Secretary: "Hold on one moment."

Me: "ok"

Another secretary picks up this time: "Are you wanting to schedule an appointment?"

------

Hahahahaha... so, even through the lack of communication... I DID manage to finally set up that appointment....
I thought I would share that with you, as it made me laugh yesterday.
Hope you all have a blessed day and happy Independence Day!

The amazing Mom!

Ok, so I thought I would blog a bit about my mom. She is really a special lady. Who else would be able to put up with me for 23 years. She is always there for me to keep me on track and to comfort me when I mess up big. And, I might add, she made an awesome school teacher! So, mom, thank you so much. And I love you so much.

What are you doing for your mom on Mother's Day? Please post and share!

God Bless!

Prioritize

As I look around me, there are many things that I could give attention to. A lot of them worthwhile. And I am the type that wants to be able to do it all. But I am learning the importance if prioritizing. I cannot do it all. Nor is it my place to do it all. God has a specific call for me. I need to learn what us His leading and what is just me wanting to be the super hero.

Calling...

Ok, so in thinking about what to write about in this blog, I have decided to talk a bit about calling. Not the phone calling, but the calling God has put on each of our lives as Christians. Our mission of sorts.

We all have something that we are called to do.
Romans 12:4-8, "For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness."

There is a certain place that God calls each of us to. What God calls one person to, may not be what you are called to do. God created you for a specific purpose, and we all have a special job to do. How do you know what that job is? I would venture to say that deep down, you already know parts of it. But, to really find the spot God wants you in, you have to simply ask Him and seek Him in prayer.

So, what if you already know what God is leading you to do? What now? Maybe the task at hand looks impossible. I know for me personally, I know what God has called me to do, but I don't know all the details of how God's plan will unfold. It is definitely an act of faith in God to follow His leading. You won't know it all. I believe that God does that because, if He were to just dump all of the details in our laps, we would not be able to wrap our minds around it and get overwhelmed. Our part is not to try and tell God how we are going to do it, but to ask Him how He wants it done and take a step of faith and do it. God is faithful and will take care of the details if you just trust Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:24, "He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it."

Back in the Word

I have recently been making it a priority to read the Bible every night before I go to bed. I had realized that I had not been reading my Bible except for Sunday's during Bible study. As a result, my spiritual batteries were running on low. God really impressed on me a very sobering truth. If I am not building myself up in the Word and getting to know Him, how do I expect to minister to others? I cannot give what I do not have myself.
So, I have been spending more time in God's Word and spending time with God in prayer. Not just for the ministry aspect, but because I know that I will never grow personally in Christ without time spent with God. My prayer is always that God has His will in my life and that He use me. But if I am not spending time with Him, I will not be ready to be used by Him.

Ready for 2010!

Well, the last few months of 2009 were awesome with the release of Blessed and having the opportunity to share it with so many people. God really opened doors for me and I am really looking forward to what He has in store next. If you have been by the website, you may have noticed that there is a lot less live performances scheduled. That is because, for the next few months, Beth and I are going to be working on new material. Also, planning will begin for Turning Point 2010! Exciting things happening in 2010. God Bless!
